FULBE KINGDOM - ASHANTI GHANA
The Fulbe Kingdom is an African Kingdom located in Ashanti, Ghana. The Kingdom is comprised of 43 Districts (Counties) which are each governed by a Joroo (Sub-Chief). The Joroo’s form the cabinet which meets monthly with the Laamiido (King) who ensures that all culture and traditions of the Fulbe people are followed.
Fulbe are one of the largest ethnic groups on the African Continent, rich with culture and spanning many different countries.
Laamiido is currently married with seven children. Unlike other Kingdom’s, Laamiido’s wives are not involved in the Royal duties of the Kingdom. He appointed Ameenata Koita as the Sarauniya (Queen) in 2019 and together they lead the Kingdom.
Fulbe are governed by a code of conduct called Tagu Fulbe or Pulaaku which consists of the qualities of patience, self-control, discipline, prudence, modesty, respect for others (including foes), wisdom, forethought, personal responsibility, hospitality, courage, and hard work.
